Image of a hand pressing a VoiSecYou decide how to use VoiSec. The possibilities are endless.

Get information to people in a form they understand, repeated as often as needed.
Many people prefer spoken to written information since about 25% of us have difficulties with text. VoiSec helps people cope with these difficulties.

Use the VoiSec Singlemessage when you want it to be as easy as can be. One button, one message.
Use the VoiSec Multimessage when you want to add new recordings to previous ones. Maybe adding items to a list?

Label it with a marker, pictures, or tactile markers. If you don’t like the standard orange or white colour, order other colours and surface finishes from us.

Attach it to schedules or calendars to tell people what’s going on rather than expecting them to read text.

Carry it in your pocket or attach it to your clothes and just about anything else.

Our Dockster station connects the VoiSec to a computer to further enhance its features.

VoiSec is not just an easy-to-use voice recorder. And it is not just a talking note gadget. VoiSec is whatever you need it to be … attached wherever to whatever.

Handling VoiSec

Help to remove the holder from the VoiSec button
Put a thin string or a piece of tape between the button and the holder. Pull the string to dismount the button.

Help to press a VoiSec to play
Place on a firm, level surface like a table and use your fist or elbow to press.

Help to keep a VoiSec compressed while recording
Place it upside down on a table and use a cutlery handle as a lever. You can also use a tablecloth clip to help keep the VoiSec compressed.

Block recording or erasing of a recorded message
Place a piece of tape completely over the tiny protruding spike found on the bottom of the VoiSec. Make sure the spike is secured in a pressed down position. To record again, just release the spike.

Reduce the risk of opening the battery compartment lid
Place a piece of tape completely over the compartment lid. Secure it well to the surface before re-mounting the holder.

Using VoiSec in cold conditions
VoiSec operates in cold temperatures but batteries may be affected making it difficult to make the button play. If VoiSec is used on food packages stored in the fridge, it may need a couple of minutes in room temperature to play well. Shorten this time by warming the VoiSec with the palm of your hand. The quickest way is to remove the button from the holder and carefully close your hand without compressing the VoiSec.

Mark VoiSec with stickers
VoiSec’s flat top is designed to be used with stickers. Colorful, tactile, name tags, and more. Why not glue a photo on top?

Mark VoiSec with Braille
Braille markers are available as stickers or on tape reels. Use them for fingertip identification or explanation.

Mark VoiSec with a felt-tip pen
Write on the top surface with a pencil, pen, crayon, etc. A marker with alcohol-based ink lasts well. Clean the surface with a cloth dipped in alcohol. Note however that VoiSec is not water-proof so avoid drenching!

Wearing VoiSec...

on your clothes
Use a holder with a pin badge attached to pin a VoiSec to your lapel, for example. You can also use Velcro patches.

on your wrist
The wristband has a Velcro area for secure attachment. Use a silicon holder around the wristband for extra security.

around your neck
Use the neck loop with silicon holder to hang a VoiSec around your neck. For added protection and a personal touch tie a decorative pouch around your VoiSec.

arranged in a row on your chest
Use Velcro or pins. Mark the VoiSecs with stickers or paint to create a visual and audio communication device with readymade messages.

Attaching VoiSec...

to a loose surface
Staple or sew the holder firmly to the surface.

to a package smaller than the button.
Place the package on top of the VoiSec instead of underneath.

to an oddly-shaped object
Many accessories can be used in several ways. Use the wristband as a strap to attach a VoiSec with a Velcro patch. The silicon holder can be pinned, nailed or hung in place. Adjustable cell and foam plastics can be used as an intermediate layer if needed.

to things that can't be pressed
Some items, like tubes of skin lotion will make a mess if pressed. You will probably find yourself in a predicament if you place a VoiSec directly on such items. Try gluing one end of a string to a VoiSec and the other end of the string to the tube. Or put the tube in a plastic box and stick the VoiSec on the box.

Adhesives won’t stick?
Clean the surface well with soap or alcohol to remove grease and loose particles. A piece of sticky tape lifts dust off surfaces. If needed, use more than one of the double-sided adhesive patches to attach devices.

Theft prevention
VoiSecs are easily removed from their holders making them easy to steal. You can make it more difficult to steal a VoiSec by making it harder to remove from its holder. We have a few ideas:

Use several accessory adhesive patches.

Fasten the holder securely to the wall with a nail or a screw and glue the VoiSec into the holder.

Replace the holder with a metal clasp and screws that grip the button by the same edge as the holder.

For VoiSecs mounted in public places, we suggest you use a box or hole in the wall that is slightly narrower than the button.
VoiSec can be made less attractive to steal by gluing the battery compartment lid to the holder or even the surface it is attached to.

Mark the lid with non-erasable materials.
